Welcome to Chicago Ridge Park District
It is the policy of the Chicago Ridge Park District to establish, expand and improve park and leisure time opportunities, maintain park properties and facilities in a safe and attractive manner, and strive to obtain available land for future generations.
The Chicago Ridge Park District provides programs and classes for all of our community members, from two year old tots to senior citizens. These activities are designed to be entertaining and enjoyable, as well as educational. Our sports and exercise activities also provide physical benefits.
Our gift giving tree will be displayed in the Freedom Activity Center lobby starting Monday, December 2. On each ornament is an item the St. Vincent de Paul Society wish list at Our Lady of the Ridge Church. We ask volunteers to choose an ornament from the tree and donate the item listed. Once you have purchased the item, reattach the ornament to the gift and bring it to the Freedom Activity Center no later than Thursday, December 19. Our RAH children will bring the donated items to Our Lady of the Ridge Church on Friday, December 20 to warm the hearts of those who cannot afford to have Christmas dinner.
Santa loves letters! He is having his elves install a mailbox at the Freedom Activity Center December 2 through December 13 to make sure he gets them right away! Santa informed us that he will write back to all the children that put a letter in this mailbox. His only request is that all who write a letter also include a self-addressed stamped envelope so he can send his response back quick!
Don’t delay! We need a minimum number of registrants to avoid cancellation!

It’s festival season! If we’re not headed to Long Grove for the Strawberry Festival, then we’re making our way to the Eyes in the Sky Festival to see the hot air balloons! Holiday events are our specialty! Celebrate Halloween with us at our Halloween at the Park event, compete for a turkey at our Annual Turkey Shoot, and meet Santa Claus for breakfast before your Santa Express train trip! Ever see Brookfield Zoo’s Holiday Magic Nights? We’ll take you there!
Winter is great time to explore wonders indoors, like the Shedd Aquarium’s 32,500 different animals, or the Chicago History Museum’s amazing showcase of historical artifacts of Chicago and the United States.
