FAQs
HERE ARE THE ANSWERS TO SOME OF OUR MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Where can I register?
You can register for any program, class or event (except Fitness and Sports Leagues) at our Freedom Activity Center. Our Fitness Center registration, Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball and Girls Volleyball League registration is taken at Frontier Park Fieldhouse as well as classes and events. RAH registration is NOT taken at Frontier Park Fieldhouse.

Do you have special rates for U.S. Military personnel?
In support of the troops and their families, the Chicago Ridge Park District Board of Commissioners is now offering an active duty military discount to residents of Chicago Ridge. This will allow any resident within the same household a complete fee waiver of all Chicago Ridge Park District facilities, classes, and special events (excluding contracted events). Proof of active duty and Chicago Ridge residency is required. Please call Freedom Activity Center 708-636-4900 for more information.

What is your refund policy?
NO refunds will be given after the first class has started or a fitness membership has been activated. Refunds will be made for programs which have been cancelled due to insufficient registration. Refunds for trips and special events will be made only if the space is filled by someone on the waiting list. A $5.00 deduction for processing will be assessed for refunds for special cases that are presented to the Board of Commissioners for approval. If approved, the refund will be prorated in addition to the $5.00 processing charge.

Do I need a permit to have a picnic in the park?
To reserve any of our Park District facilities or parks, you will need to complete a permit and submit it for approval. Please submit as far in advance as possible.

What is Open Gym and when can we participate?
Open Gym is held at the Frontier Park Fieldhouse and applies to the specific times the gym is open to the public. Children 8 and over may enter the gym with a Park I.D. and the required fee. Children 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult with a picture I.D. Each session is two hours.

What is a Park I.D.?
A Park I.D. is an I.D. that is required for entrance to the Fieldhouse for Open Gym and 5th through 8th grade dances (that is, if a drivers license or state I.D. is not offered). No other I.D. will be accepted. To obtain an I.D., a child, accompanied by their caregiver, must go to the Frontier Park Fieldhouse and apply for the I.D. Proof of residency is required by the adult. A picture is taken of the child and a Park I.D. is fashioned while you wait. The first I.D. for residents is free, $5.00 for non-residents and replacement I.D.'s.
