Regular Committee/Board Meeting of the

Board of Commissioners

CHICAGO RIDGE PARK DISTRICT

October 14, 2015

 

CALL TO ORDER

President Pratl called the meeting to order at 8:00pm.

 

ROLL CALL

The following commissioners were present:  Commissioners Crout, Conrad, and Pratl.   Commissioner Egan, was absent with notice. Commissioner Lind was absent.  Also present: Director King.

 

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Everyone participated in the Pledge of Allegiance. 

 

PUBLIC/STAFF WISHING TO ADDRESS THE BOARD

There was no one to address the Board.

 

RECREATION COMMITTEE

Chair Report

Commissioner Crout asked Director King about the inflatable day at Frontier.  Director King reported that they had 28 children which were the RAH participants; no other public attended the event.

 

Commissioner Pratl reported that he had spoken with Recreation Superintendent Malito who will be sending out flyers to area schools looking to get schools interested in participating in basketball tournaments for 5th-8th grades.

 

In his absence, the Board reviewed the written report from Recreation Superintendent Malito. 

 

MAINTENANCE COMMITTEE

Chair Report

Commissioner Egan and Maintenance Superintendent Biskey were not at the meeting.  The Board reviewed the written report submitted by Maintenance Superintendent Biskey.

 

Items covered:

Water usage at the Lily Pad is still a concern, but the meter tested accurately.  Director King reported that Maintenance Superintendent Biskey will continue to work on finding an answer.

 

Northwest Contractors was out to walk through Ball Fore and discuss some upgrades for the spring.  A quote will be given at the next meeting.  Maintenance Superintendent Biskey has also been in contact with Astro Mills Carpet regarding pricing for replacement of the putting greens.

 

Two new basketball rims were purchased for Frontier.

 

Secure Electric was out to do the electrical work for the meditation area at Lombard.

 

Parks continue to be maintained.

 

There was some vandalism and damage to the water fountain at Tower Park.  Water was turned off and the port-o-john was removed.

 

Director’s Report

The Board was given quotes for new phone service for their review. 

 

Director King informed the Board that he will be attending the TIF meeting at the Village on the 19th.

 

FINANCE COMMITTEE

Chair Report

Commissioner Lind was not at the meeting.  No report was given.  The Board was given Financial Statements for their review.

 

SPECIAL PROJECTS

Chair Report

Commissioner Conrad discussed flashing light security cameras.  He also discussed possibly upgrading the miniature golf stands at Ball Fore with what he saw at the NRPA conference.

 

Director King gave the Board a copy of the Intergovernmental Agreement with U.S. Communities Co-op for their review.  The Park District’s attorney has reviewed the agreement and prepared a resolution for adoption.

 

The Board was given a new Cyber Liability Policy which was reviewed and approved by the Park District’s attorney.

 

Director King informed the Board that he will have a proposal from GameTime on the new playground at Guardian for the next meeting.

 

OLD BUSINESS

There was no old business to discuss.

 

NEW BUSINESS

President Pratl called for a motion to adopt a Resolution authorizing Chicago Ridge Park District to enter into master Intergovernmental Cooperative Purchasing Agreement with Lead Public Agencies through U.S. Communities as Resolution #2015-06.  Motion was made by Commissioner Crout and seconded by Commissioner Conrad.

Ayes:                Commissioner Crout, Conrad, Pratl

Nays:               None

Abstain:           None

Motion Carried.

 

President Pratl called for a motion to adopt the Cyber Liability Policy pursuant to Attorney’s review.  Motion was made by Commissioner Conrad and seconded by Commissioner Crout.

Ayes:                Commissioner Crout, Conrad, Pratl

Nays:               None

Abstain:           None

Motion Carried.

 

EXECUTIVE SESSION

There was no need to enter Executive Session.

 

 ADJOURN. 

President Pratl called for a motion to adjourn at 8:29pm.  Motion was made by Commissioner Crout and seconded by Commissioner Conrad.  All in favor, aye.  Motion carried.
