CHICAGO RIDGE PARK DISTRICT

June 13, 2012

CALL TO ORDER

President Pratl called the meeting to order at 8:00 pm.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Everyone participated in the Pledge of Allegiance.

PUBLIC/STAFF WISHING TO ADDRESS THE BOARD

President Pratl gave the floor to Fest Chairman, Chuck Tokar.  Mr. Tokar began by informing the Board that they spent a couple of hours walking the park with Jack Lind and George Voltz from Crowley Shepard.  Mr. Tokar suggested putting in an asphalt path and an extra gate for which Public Works would do half the work.  He also stated that since the Fest is only 6 weeks away, there is nothing they can do about the park grounds, but acknowledged to the Board that the Public Works department did not take care of the park after last year’s Fest the way they should have and it is still “beat up”.  Mr. Tokar assured the Board that the park will be taken care of properly after this year’s Fest and will sit down with the Public Works Director to work out a plan for taking care of the park immediately after the Fest.  Mr. Tokar also agreed that the tree that was destroyed last year should be taken down and replaced.

The Board discussed different options with the asphalt, location of the carnival, beer garden and port-o-johns.  Mr. Tokar stated that he would like Director King to meet with him at the park and help in these decisions.  Director King said he would be happy to meet with them and to let him know the day and time.

Commissioner Pratl requested Commissioner Lind be added as a representative and that both Commissioner Conrad and Commissioner Lind be notified of the next Fest Committee meeting so that the interests of the park district could be represented.

In regard to the permit, the Board will send a clean copy of the permit to be signed by the Village.
